Really pleased to have been part of the team delivering three recent approvals for McCarthy & Stone retirement living schemes in Banstead, Bagshot and Wokingham.

Each one had different and challenging heritage issues, with two won at appeal.

Kodak House, 65 Kingsway, London

A robust evidence-based heritage approach enabled approval of a £16million refurbishment and two storey extension above one of the earliest steel-supported ‘open-plan’ offices in the country: the Grade II listed Kodak House, Kingsway, London

Our Heritage team was delighted to succeed in achieving consent for this project in 2021, working with Savills and Barr Gazetas Architects

With effects on listed buildings, the setting of a Conservation Area, and requiring the demolition of the school’s original sanatorium, this contemporary design has been well absorbed into its historic context.
